The Mezz
OK we got some wood:
(seen this before?)
We got connecty bits:
We got plans (of sorts):
And we got one beasty drill:
Let's get this shit ERECTED!
At first, progress was slow.
Then I enlisted some help, and things really started moving.
Some of the fittings didn't quite, well, fit. But put enough screws in something and it'll stay still.
Bit of poor planning on my part. I've got eight powerpoints in my room, I won't miss this one.
That looks like a good place for a brace.
"Do you reckon there's power lines on the other side of this skirting?"
"I've got a circuit breaker, it'll be fine"
The desk is up! I love the print on top.
It's even got a clothes rail.
The bed has plenty of headroom.
Heaps of room for clothes underneath. Next step will be some shelves.
And Midnight Oil: Redux (The Mezz) is complete! What was once an installation about streetpress in Melbourne:
Is now an extension to my room!

Jatte, jatte bra!
I had no idea that construction time would be so short. It looks great; my only concern is whether you'll have enough shit to cover all the new surfaces.

I am concerned about the lighting. If you want to sleep, you do not need a lamp just in front of your face when you wake up, especially if you are sleeping "upstairs", and the desk is poorly illuminated.
But... hey.. it's your space right?
Cool!
